Outsider Wins Trophy Vert Qualifier

On Sunday Villeneuve-sur-Lot played host to their qualifying round of the 2020 Trophy Vert series (on grass) where an outsider won the 2600m race. Located in the south-east of the country, this picturesque town located north of Agen would normally see thousands in attendance for their feature meeting of the season. This year from behind closed doors, the atmosphere was different but the racing was just as compelling as always.

Duel at Deauville

Only a short neck separated France’s two top stayers in the G3 Prix de Barbeville run at Deauville on Sunday, following the transfer of the meeting from Longchamp. It may have only been a small field of five runners, but both Call The Wind and Holdthasigreen didn’t let their viewing fans down. What was witnessed by the audience was a duel in the Deauville home straight worthy of two outstanding stayers.

Group Action at Mauquenchy

On Friday, after the change to the French racing schedule due to the Pandemic, Mauquenchy played host to the first of the transferred Vincennes meetings. Two Group races were the highlight of the card with leading trainer Jean-Michel Bazire and driver Alexandre Abrivard combining to win both Group races on the programme.
